Traders and Raiders

As part of the home learning for their project 'Traders and Raiders', Year 4 pupils had the choice of many engaging home learning tasks.  They could choose to write a diary account as if they were an ancient Briton living in a town that has been invaded by the Vikings; create a leaflet about Viking gods and goddesses; research a particular aspect of Viking or Anglo Saxon life or create a fact-file about a famous Anglo-Saxon or Viking. Children could also get involved in the project home learning task by creating a 'True or False?' quiz; creating a Viking longboat; children could choose to research and create Viking embroidery patterns; find out about real treasure discovered from the period or make small Anglo-Saxon charms and thread with other materials to create a personalised necklace.
