We are keen to offer parents/carers the opportunity to become involved in the shaping of continuous school development at Copley Junior School by joining our Parent Forum.
The Parent Forum will involve parents/carers meeting once each half term at school to give their opinions, suggestions and support as we review and develop aspects of school life and approaches to teaching and learning. We feel that by discussing the proposals for the school with parents/carers, we will be able to ensure the best provision for the children. Previous members of the Parent Forum have given great support and areas for consultation include: the introduction of new school uniform; development of Copley Junior School’s vision statement and strap line (‘Believe, Achieve, Succeed’); the development of Copley's 'Learner Values'; development of a parental questionnaire to gauge views about home learning and input into the development of our approach to home learning; development of our Home-School Agreement; introduction of new arrangements and the development of an 'At a Glance' Parent Forum Guide for procedures at the start and end of the school day; the development of an 'At a Glance' Parent Forum guide to our Positive Behaviour Policy; development of our termly report format; developing ideas to promote children's enjoyment of reading; content of parent curriculum presentations and 'Spotlight On' publications; discussion of parent and pupil surveys and next steps; introducing improvements to lunchtime arrangements etc. I am sure you will agree that the involvement and impact of the Parent Forum has been significant.
